Technology.... Here to stay! Time to Explore!

Being in a self contained Autism classroom, most of my students are focusing on learning life skills and educational strategies at the same time. I created a lesson plan that focused on helping students master spelling and identifying a certain color. Seesaw and Spelling City were extremely helpful tools is helping me, help my students master these objectives. Seesaw allowed me to use activities already created about specific colors, while also creating my own end of unit assessment. Students were able to work one on one on their own device. My students love being on their device and find joy in learning that integrates technology.  Technology comes in many shapes and sizes with many different purposes. Before this class I had a very limited amount of resources. Google classroom, kahoot, and blooket were my go to activities for students to use. Chatting online and in the classroom

  ChatGPT I chose to evaluate the tool ChatGPT as I have never heard of it before, and I wanted to compare it to the well known google add on pear deck. I found that this tool allows for critical thinking skills to be used frequently on the site. Students have a topic or question in mind and use this tool to find answers or more information requiring them to be engaged and active in researching. I feel that the website alone limits students creativity as the information is already shared with them, however this would be the perfect extension to a project. Students can take the information and present it in a creative way with their peers and teachers. I scored this low due to the fact that the tool itself does not promote the creative piece, the teacher or student would have to come up with that assignment or task.
